LAHORE, October 17 — Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the masses have rejected the protest action of the opposition parties under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and stand by the government.
He said at a memorial seminar “Shaheed Hakeem Saeed, Life and Services” here on Saturday: “The opposition parties may do what they want, but the government does not want to lean towards their personal agenda.”
The governor said the opposition had the right to protest in a democracy, but the bad agenda to malign the national institutions, to which the opposition turned, would not be tolerated at all.
“The opposition is pursuing the personal and political agenda instead of protecting national and public interests,” Sarwar said, adding that the PDM is fulfilling the foreign agenda but that the public will thwart these efforts.
The governor said the politicians hatching a conspiracy against Pakistan’s armed forces could not be in the country’s favor.
He said the agenda of the opposition was being gradually exposed before the masses and the people in harmony rejected this agenda.
